Honoring the Legacy of Tallane “Coach Z” Zunguze

Tallane Louis Zunguze—beloved son, brother, mentor, and founding Board member of The Tatissa Zunguze Foundation—left a lasting legacy of leadership, service, and commitment to young people.

Affectionately known as Coach Z, Tallane served on the Foundation’s Board from its founding in 2017 until his passing on May 24, 2022. His wisdom, compassion, and passion helped advance our work in suicide prevention and youth empowerment.

Tallane’s impact extended deeply into the Salt Lake City community, where he founded and led the Utah Youth Thunder Basketball Club. Through basketball, he mentored and encouraged young people to develop confidence, discipline, leadership, and a belief in their potentiaL.

Today, Tallane’s spirit of service continues through the lives he touched and the work he inspired.

In his honor, the Foundation supports youth empowerment and leadership initiatives that carry forward his belief in the potential of every young person.

His legacy lives on through every young person encouraged to lead, grow, and believe in what is possible.
